This is the story of our precious baby boy, who was diagnosed prenatally at
17 weeks with a fatal chromosome disorder called Trisomy 13. Although
Jonathan's condition is considered "not compatible with life", we desired to give
him every chance at life. Our prayer is that those who are touched by our story
are drawn to God, who is Life Himself. John 14:6

God's Miracle

Jonathan Tomaschko passed away and went to be with his LORD and SAVIOR.

Jonathan lived for 40 mintues!


  1. Praise be to God for his precious gift. May He continue to comfort and bless your precious family. Through your courage and strength you have blessed your son and shown God's light to the world.

  2. I've been following your blog since the article in the paper and wanted to say what a wonderful couple God chose to carry and love Jonathan. I'm so happy your prayers for time with him were answered and I'll continue to pray for peace for your family.

  3. My first words upon reading this post was "Thank God!!! Thank you God for letting the Tomaschko family have time with Jonathan". Then I thought about the 40 minutes he was with us this side of heaven and I had to praise God again for this precious sign. Just as Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days, so was it with baby Jonathan's time. The number 40. Thank you God for letting us know you are here with all of us, especially with Jonathan's family. Praise be to you!

  4. I have been following for awhile as well and Jonathan has touched so many lives in so many ways, ways you that will forever change us all. Thank you for being so courageous and God Bless you all now and always.

  6. Lauren you have been on my mind all day as i have prayed solo and with everyone i can reach that this miracle of johnathan being born alive today would come forth. Praise be to god. Now i pray as Johnathan watches over you, Greg and Katie that you feel his gods peace and presence over you in this dark hour.   8. Praise God we don't have to mourn as those with no hope. I thank God he was born alive and you were able to have some time with him!! God is so good to answer your prayer and your desire in that. You will be without Jonathan here on earth, but you will get to spend eternity worshiping our GREAT God and Savior right next to Jonathan!! Please know that my family is praying for you all, and that God will comfort you,as only He can.

    So thankful to know that you had 40 precious minutes with your sweet boy this side of heaven. Praying now for your comfort and healing. So thankful you have allowed so many to share in your journey and bolster our faith by reading of yours.

    It has been 2 years and 4 months since I lay alone in a hospital bed grieving the loss of my own child...having walked on the road that you are on right now, if there were only one thing I could say to you, it would be that GOD IS FAITHFUL. He will not leave you or forsake you, even in the darkest of all valleys.
